As per the 2010 Census report, Kansas is the 33rd most populous state of the 50 United States. The resident population was counted as 2,853,118(approx), an increase of 6.1% from the 2000 Census.
The first Kansas Federal Census began in 1860 and it has been taken every 10 years since then. The 1890 Kansas Decennial Census records were completely damaged by the
1921 warehouse fire. KS State Censuses were taken in 1855 (fractional) 1865, 1875, 1885, 1895, 1905, 1915 and 1925.
